Deciding on Visa Type

Yellow Fever Vaccine
If you will be traveling to Costa Rica from South America and/or sub-Saharan Africa, you are required to show proof of having received the yellow fever vaccine.
Residency as an Investor
A foreigner can apply for an Investor Residency if they invest USD $200,000 or more in a local business. If the investment is in an industry of tourism, reforestation or a state-sponsored area, the minimum investement can be lowered.
Provisional Visa
Those coming to Costa Rica as a student, volunteer, academic or researcher a Provisional Visa is required. This can be requested from a local Costa Rican consulate. Several documents are required: passport, proof of employment or enrollment, birth certificate, background check certificate and proof of economic viability. We can help with this process.

Temporary Residence
Applications for temporary residence in Costa Rica must be submitted to the Immigration Office. Items required include: a request letter, photographs, birth certificate, property certificate, proof of pension, forms and several payments.
